Dermal filler treatment is a non-surgical way of addressing sunken cheeks. It replaces lost volume and gives you a fresher, younger appearance.

Before the procedure, we’ll carefully plan the intricate details and identify the specific sites that will receive the injection. Then, once we have planned the treatment, we’ll inject the filler.

Nasolabial folds run along the inside of your cheeks from the bottom of your nose down to the corner of your mouth. Although everyone has these lines, they will deepen as you get older.

In addition to the natural ageing process, the prominence of these lines can be increased as a result of smoking or sudden weight loss brought about through crash diets.

Made from pharmaceutical-grade hyaluronic acid, dermal fillers hydrate, plump, and refresh your skin.

Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found in the fluid surrounding your joints and eyes. It decreases swelling and contributes to the youthful appearance of your skin. However, as you age, the natural production of hyaluronic acid begins to slow down.

Dermal fillers are a fantastic way of replenishing lost hyaluronic acid and rehydrating areas of your face.

We always go out of our way to make your treatment as comfortable as possible. In fact, many of our patients comment on how little pain they experience during and after the procedure.

Following nasolabial fold filler treatment, you may experience some bruising or redness around the injection site. However, this usually only lasts for a day or two. Similarly, the treatment area may feel firmer than usual for a few days after the procedure. It may be tempting to rub the treatment area, but you should resist the temptation for at least five days.

After treatment, avoiding too much sun exposure or strenuous exercise for the next two days is important. You should also avoid applying makeup to the injection site for 24 hours after the procedure.

Although there is very little pain or discomfort associated with dermal fillers, you may want to take painkillers. Remember that you shouldn’t take ibuprofen or aspirin for a few days after your treatment.

Typically, the most common side effect associated with dermal fillers is swelling. That said, you should be prepared for a bit of bruising and even small lumps under your skin. All of these symptoms will disappear on their own over time.

We want you to feel completely at ease while undergoing this non-surgical aesthetic treatment. However, we can discuss these further during your initial consultation if you have any worries about potential side effects.

The nasolabial fold filler recovery process is relatively short. Typically, any swelling or redness will last for a couple of days. After your treatment, you can go about your normal activities straight away; however, it’s important to avoid doing anything too strenuous for two days.

You’ll be glad to know that the signs of ageing around the cheeks and nasolabial folds will start reversing immediately after your treatment. The process will give you naturally fuller cheeks. Your friends and family will undoubtedly notice how healthy and well-rested you look.

Over time, your body will naturally break down the hyaluronic acid used in your nasolabial fold filler treatment. The exact time this takes will vary; however, it’s usually between six months and two years.

It will be possible to replenish the hyaluronic acid by revisiting us for a top-up treatment every so often at a later date.

Nasolabial fold fillers can enhance the appearance of sunken cheeks, reducing the signs of ageing in the process. It does this in a minimally invasive and non-surgical way.
